The Italian motorcycle industry is a fascinating one with several very distinct eras. It is interesting to see these models for sale side-by-side, as the two periods they represent could not be more different. The Gilera and the Guzzi are from the golden years of small displacement motorsport, while the Ducati twenty years newer and the result of the major cultural shifts which took place in that time. The 1958 Gilera Rossa Extra is interesting in that it, at 175cc, boasts a higher displacement than many other small Gilera singles of the era (not including the older Saturno-based models). The seller states that it is Giro legal, and we imagine this would be a great bike for it. These are rare Stateside, and this one has been restored to a very high degree.
This pair of Lambretta Li150 scooters is being offered separately by the same seller. Both run well, with recent servicing including updates to electronic ignition. The cream/orange model is a 1969 with long California history and Clubman-style exhaust. The white/red model is a 1966 with more patina but also original paint and decals. They are available in Oakland, California for $3750 and $3900 respectively.
This 1960 Triumph Tiger is equipped with a Cycle Sno-Go track accessory kit which was manufactured in Sacramento, California. Though WW2-era Indians do exist, they are far rarer than their Harley competitors. This seller states that it is older restoration, and we love the cream and maroon paint job. This Indian has been with the same owner for the last 26 years, and is said to run as well as it looks. Find it here on Craigslist in Western Slope, Colorado for $17,000 OBO.
Looking for something unique and different? Then look no further than this 1964 WFM Osa scooter. We have seen several Eastern Block scooters in the U.S., but never one of these. This big machine would dominate any scooter rally that it attended. If the Italian curves of a Vespa or Lambretta bore you, you can find this Osa here on eBay in Saginaw, Michigan.
This Triumph Speed Twin features an inoperable, non-original engine as well as some missing parts. As is often the case, however, this has driven the price down significantly: we expect this one to sell for far less than most. Find it here on eBay in Georgetown, Texas.
This Harley may have started as a 1958 Sportster, but hours of reshaping it have brought the lines closer to those of an older Knucklehead. This is an interesting sort of custom that separates itself from the typical chop/bob job, and it is a style we would like to see more of. This 1977 Yamaha RD-400 is said to have been found in the back of an Oklahoma Yamaha dealer. It was parked in the early 80′s until it was restored three years ago. This thing look terrific and we love the 7-spoke mag wheels. It ends in just a few hours here on eBay in Newcastle, Oklahoma with reserve met.
With the price of round case Ducati twins constantly on the rise, it is refreshing to see examples like this 1974 750 GT. Though perhaps somewhat mundane compared to some of the high-dollar sports models, it still carries plenty of presence and has had its reserve met at $12.6K. Find it here on eBay in Prevost, Quebec.
The Zundapp Bella is clearly a machine inspired by similar Latin lightweights, but with a notably more teutonic character. Though this 1956 model needs a deal of work, it is rare to find one as complete, solid, and original as this outside Europe. Find it here on eBay in Memphis, Indiana.
This 1956 Indian Tomahawk has been restored to a gleaming shine, and everything looks to have been worked over to make it one great rider. These are an interesting alternative to other middleweights of the period, and as a daily rider we think this one could even give an Enfield a run for its money. This 1970 OSSA Pioneer has not run in 15 years, but does kick over. It is in beautiful cosmetic shape, but will need the 2-stroke engine sorted before running or riding.
